Named after Mayra Paniagua, a strawberry farmer who owns Golden State Farms in California. Mayra is a first generation college graduate, whose parents immigrated to California from Mexico with dreams of making a better future for their family. She grew up surrounded by strawberry fields and is now a proud owner of her own farm, despite it being a largely male dominated industry!! Una poderosa!!
